This Magnetic Cylinder is identical in length and diameter and therefore a rod as well as a disc. Strong and handy, compact and elegant, suitable as pin board magnet even for glass boards and areas of magnetic paint. Also an ideal magnet for countersinking in wood or any other material. Neodymium magnets are made of neodymium, iron and boron and are the strongest raw magnets.
NdFeB Superior Strong Magnet rod magnet – The cylindrical shape allows smaller mechanical tolerance compared to segment magnets.
Motor assembly is made much easier; installation of one or more rings versus gluing arcs into place.
Currently attainable qualities: 35H, 40H, 45H, 38M, 35SH, 38SH, 42SH, 35UH, 40UH.
Super Permanent Magnets sintering may prevent so-called weak spots.
Direction of magnetisation of super permanent magnets
Axially magnetised rod magnets have the north and south pole “on the top and bottom”, similar to a compass needle. The rod magnet does not have magnetic pull in the middle. There are also diametrically magnetised rod magnets, which have their north and south pole on the “right and left”.
Practical applications for rod magnets
Rod magnets work well on a whiteboard, magnetic board or fridge, where you want to hang up photos, notes, etc. Thanks to its oblong shape they are easier to grasp than flat disc magnets.
Neodymium rod magnets are also suitable to countersink boreholes, which allows for several objects to be combined magnetically or to create magnetic clasps for jewellery.
Long rod magnets work well for magnet experiments as well (the classic: visualise magnetic field lines with the help of iron filings).
Another very practical application in workshops is picking up screws and metal filings, given they are made of iron or steel.
This listing is not comprehensive of course. See for yourself under applications how satisfied our customers are with the versatility of rod magnets.
