Permanent Magnet Pulleys Item No. MP-PM series – Magnetic pulleys are used at the discharge point of the conveyor to separate tramp iron from the product moving on the conveyor belt. The pulley is particularly very useful in iron ore purification to ensure broader working field. Pulley is also used in conjunction with suspension magnet to efficiently control the tramp iron removal. Magnetic pulley can be manufactured using permanent magnets or electromagnetic pulley by using aluminum or copper coils.
A magnetic head pulley is a head or tail roller that is filled with magnets. This roller forms a magnetic system with a correspondingly rotating magnetic field that is active around the entire circumference. The magnetic field attracts ferromagnetic metal particles in a product flow, and the conveyor belt that runs over the roller carries these particles with it to the underside of the roller. When they are no longer in range of the magnetic field they fall off the belt, where they are collected and/or carried away.

Magnetic pulley operation:
As the belt conveyed product travels over the magnetic head pulley, any ferrous metal that mixed in with the product is attracted and held to the face of the belt and carried to the underside of the conveyor. After the metal passes out of the magnetic field, it is released and discharged into a bin for disposal. The cleaned product, which is unaffected by the magnetic field, is discharged normally over the pulley away from the tramp metal. Head Roller Magnet Separation
