It is a cylindrical magnet like the “horseshoe” type. The different poles (North and South) are in either of the extremes of the cylinder. They are used for attraction purposes.
Alnico Button Pot Magnets are made by sintering aluminum, nickel and cobalt along with iron and other metals to enhance the magnet grade’s specific properties. Alnico magnets have a very stable magnetism even in high-temperature technical applications. They can be made into complex shapes and produce highly magnetic fields in certain configurations. Button Pot Magnets do not corrode. They are easily de-magnetized and re-magnetized and can be plated with a variety of metals or given a red coating.
