The “Center” of Permanent Magnet Motors – Permanent Magnets The development of permanent magnet motors is closely related to the development of permanent magnet materials. China is the first country in the world to discover the magnetic properties of permanent magnetic materials and apply them to practice. More than 2000 years ago, China made a [...]
What is SmFeN Magnet SmFeN magnetic material uses abundant rare-earth Sm element instead of expensive elements of Nd, Dy, Co, etc, and is the most cost-effective rare earth permanent magnetic material. Compared with the bonded neodymium magnet, the bonded SmFeN magnet has higher magnetic properties and lower prices. Moreover, curie temperature, corrosion resistance, and thermal [...]
Thermal Stability of Anisotropic Bonded Magnets Prepared by Additive Manufacturing Abstract In this research, anisotropic NdFeB + SmFeN hybrid and NdFeB bonded magnets are additively printed in a polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) polymer binder. Printed NdFeB + SmFeN PPS bonded magnets displayed excellent magnetic properties (Br [remanence] = 6.9 kG [0.69 T], Hcj [coercivity] = 8.3 [...]
New Measurement Technique Characterizes Permanent Magnets Permanent magnets are widely used for sensor and motor applications. Besides these, magnetic fields are also used for applications such as storage of information and fraud protection on documents. With the number of critical applications continuing to rise, developers and producers are increasingly forced to meet safety requirements, as [...]
Permanent Magnets in a Changing World Market There are several commercially available permanent magnets. In sequence of invention they are: alnico, ferrite, SmCo (samarium cobalt), NdFeB (neodymium iron boron, Neo), and SmFeN (samarium iron nitride). The last three types are considered “rare earth” magnets because they contain one or more rare earth elements. In terms [...]
Manufacturing Processes for Permanent Magnets: Bonding and Emerging Methods Abstract Permanent magnets produce magnetic fields and maintain the field even in the presence of an opposing magnetic field. They are widely used in electric machines, electronics, and medical devices. Part I reviews the conventional manufacturing processes for commercial magnets, including Nd-Fe-B, Sm-Co, alnico, and ferrite [...]
The Manufacturing Process of Sintered Neodymium Magnet - How Neodym Magnets are made? Sintered neodymium magnet is manufactured by vacuum powder metallurgy process. The manufacturing process is as follows: 1. Raw Material Neodymium (Nd), Iron (Fe), Boron (B) and other addictives are measured according to the preferred element composition. Raw NdFeB material Raw Material of [...]
