Evolution of MPCO Permanent Lifting Magnets

Since 2006, MPCO Magnetics has always been continuing to improve the reliability and durability of permanent lifting magnets design by adopting new magnet materials, new assembly construction and new workmanship.

As a lifting magnets manufacturer and distributor, Armstrong developed models from the PML series to PML-A, then to the current PML-B. Now, we only supply the PML-B series lifting magnets for sheet metal in 10 sub-models with lifting capacities of 330 lb, 660 lb, 1320 lb, 2200 lb and 4400 lb, with either welded or screw-on hoist rings.

1st generation: PML series lifting magnets shown in the following photo.

The hollow handle could easily be deformed as a result of collisions and then no longer be rotated from OFF to ON position.

The main body is constructed with two steel blocks, welded with two stainless steel strips in between and bolted with two Aluminum plates at the ends. This structure could not withstand strong collision or impact force.

2nd generation: PML-A series permanent lifting magnets shown in the following photo.

The Lock Pin is floating above the top of the main body and could easily be damaged in a collision.

Improvements:
The handle is a solid steel bar and would not be deformed in collisions.

The main body of PML-A is constructed with steel blocks and welded together directly. This type of structure was much stronger than the NL-series lifting magnet design.

Improvement:

The lifting magnet handle is a solid steel bar and could not be deformed in collisions.

The main body of PML-B is constructed with steel blocks and welded together directly. This type of the structure should be much stronger than NL lifting magnet device.

The level part of the Lock Pin is lowered into the slot on top of the main body and therefore the two sides of the slot can protect the Lock Pin in case of collision.

MPCO mechanism predicts lifting capacity in a certain condition. For detail please see PML-B

Each PML-B lifting magnets has a unique serial number.

The front end plate has MPCO’s logo.

The back end plate has a casted model number.

Plus new service:

We call every new client before shipping the permanent lifting magnets and investigate their lifting conditions in order to make sure the heavy duty lifting magnets to be shipped would be best suitable for their application.

Provide immediate repairs of the permanent lifting magnets and replacements of any damaged parts.
